Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is part of the Lutheran World Federation Department for World Service (LWF-DWS), an international humanitarian and development agency. LWF Uganda works to reduce people’s vulnerability, supporting them to realize their potential, to build on their assets, and to respond to their own problems and needs. LWF, Lamwo Sub Program seeks to recruit dynamic, innovative humanitarian / social and or community workers for the following vacancy.
Matron (Protection House)-01 position
Directly reports to-Project Assistant GBV
Location-Palabek Settlement -Lamwo District
Duration-11 Months
Job Summary
The matron will provide leadership as the first line response and management of the protection house.
She will ensure the daily running of the protection house ensuring that PoCs under her care are served
with dignity. .

Key Responsibilities
• Be the focal point in providing a link between Protection house residents and the GBV officer
• Manage and monitor food and non-food items in the protection house
• Monitor and provide timely updates on clients’ welfare, while observing the provision of key protection services including (medical services, shelter, psychosocial services, legal) with personal care, including dressing, mobility, administering medication, personal hygiene, eating and transporting to doctors’ Appointments
• Monitor patient medications and update the office on a regular timely basis
• Maintain open communication Between survivors and office including survivors’ medical and emotional condition
• Document and report the Status of survivors
• Ensure maximum safety and well-being of protection house occupants at all times.

Core Competencies
• Fluency in Arabic, Luo and English.
• interpersonal, Skills with ability to demonstrate professional and healthy relationships with
• both survivors of SGBV, Peers and supervisors
• Demonstrate high sensitivity and compassion to survivors in her care.
• Commitment ta humanitarian action and values.
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to provide & basic first aid
• Dedicated to giving the best possible care
• Exceptional communication skills and able to use sign language
• Patient and caring person who is a reliable caregiver
• Possess basic, -counselling competences
• At least one-year experience in a similar role

Academic Competencies
• A minimum of a senior Four Certificate
